Shamil ilmestyi huomaamatta Turku Hacklabille, kun läb sijaitsi vielä Orikedolla. Haastattelun perusteella hänet houkutteli sinne läbillä järjestetty Retropeliviikonloppu, jossa pelattiin vanhoja tietokonepelejä Amigoilla ja muilla tuota aikaa vastaavilla vekottimilla. Shamil innostui läbin toiminnasta ja häntä alkoi nähdä tiistaisin tiloissa.
Shamilin tausta on TurkuSec Ry:ssä, joka toimii kyberturvalisuuden parissa ja järjestää aiheesta työpajoja. Läbillä Shamil ei ole kovin monia projekteja vielä tehnyt, mutta hän on auttanut muita jäseniä heidän projekteissaan. Shamil oli Turku Hacklabin hallituksessakin muutama vuosi takaperin ja auttoi paljon muutossa Lukkosepänkadulle ja uuden tilan remontissa – hänen ansiostaan läbin kattopalkin välissä on nyt ääni- ja pölyeristeet. Joitakin projekteja Shamil on tehnyt ja uusin niistä on jousipyssy nuolineen.
Shamililta voi kysyä apua tietoturvaan liittyvissä asioissa ja hän on varsin hyvä juttukaveri kaikissa muissakin aiheissa.

Shamil appeared to Turku Hacklab when the lab was still located at Oriketo. According the interview he got there when he heard about lab’s Retro Gaming weekend – An event where people game with Amigas and other old computers and consoles of that era. Shamil got interested in about the hacklab, became a member and has been spotted at the lab frequently.
Shamil has a background within TurkuSec Ry which is an organisation that focuses on cybersecurity by having workshops about the subject. Shamil hasn’t had many projects at the lab but he’s been helping others with theirs. Shamil was a member of the hacklab’s board few years ago and he was a big help during the migration to Lukkosepänkatu – thanks to him gaps over the ceiling beam are dust and noise proof. Shamil has been making few projects and the newest one is a hand made bow and arrows for it.
Shamil might be the best person to ask about cyber security. He’s also a very nice chat buddy no matter what the subject is.
